Born in ‘91

Crafting original experiences ever since.

Hi, my name is Daniel Giardina, creator of Pink Matter Design Studio. I am a multi-disciplinary creative based in Portland Oregon

My understanding of psychological empathy, collaborative decision making, and technical design skills are the foundation of my UX centered approach to not only design, but problem solving as a whole. At a minimum I believe good design targets specific human needs, and beyond that should be both ethical and accessible.

At my core I am an artist. Whether it be physical, digital, or experiential, I thrive to create and strive to share my works.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Collaborative Problem Solving

I excel in collaborative environments focusing on positive collective problem solving revolving around honest and clear communication. I receive critiques objectively, never personally, and aim to offer solution oriented feedback.

UX Research and Strategy

UX thinking is the core approach to my design process. Discovering what drives users and why is essential to making product decisions. I prioritize gathering essential data to resolve and iterate upon actual pain points, leading to a successful client and user centered result.

Design Software Proficiency and Learning

I am experienced in a variety of essential design programs including Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and so much more. I am confident in learning and mastering any necessary software that I don’t currently know.

Visual Design

With considerations to color theory, typography, visual balance, and other design concepts I deliver intentional aesthetics reflecting the desired brand representation. This, alongside the application of usability heuristics, I produce work which is both functional and beautiful.
